How many tickets are there in the lottery?

There are 10,000 tickets available for sale.

 

How many prizes are there to be won?

There are 3 prizes to be won – the Major Cash Prize, the Early Bird Prize, and the Bonus Prize.

 

How much are the tickets?

Tickets are $50 each.

 

How will I know if I have won?

Grand Getaway Lottery winners will be notified by phone. They will also be published online via our Facebook and Instagram pages and at grandgetawaylottery.com.au after the draw(s). All winners will also be notified in writing.

 

How do I claim my prize?

If you are a lucky Grand Getaway Lottery winner you will receive a call and letter/email from Cancer Council WA providing details on how to claim your prize.

 

Can I claim this as a tax deduction?

Lottery ticket purchases are not tax deductible as they are not a donation.

 

Can I buy a ticket in two names?

We have to allocate the prize to one winner however you can purchase a ticket as a gift for someone.

 

Can I buy a ticket as a gift?

Absolutely. When checking out, simply select the “purchase ticket as a gift” tick box and enter the recipient’s details in the “Gift Recipient Details” section. You will then need to enter your own details in the billing address information section. You’ll receive a copy of the ticket yourself via email so you can print it off and gift it to them directly. You’ll also have the option to email the tickets directly to the recipient with a personalised message.

 

Can people under 18 years old purchase a ticket?

No. Unfortunately people who purchase a ticket must be over 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be purchased under the name of, or for a minor.

 

Are the prizes in the Grand Getaway Lottery donated?

Unfortunately, the prizes are not donated. We have a great relationship with our suppliers and have worked together to negotiate an agreed price with each of the prize partners.

 

How do you know your credit card and personal details are secure?

We take your privacy very seriously. Cancer Council WA adheres to the current privacy laws when it comes to any of your personal data. Your credit card details are not stored and are wiped as soon as the transaction is processed.

 

Do you take Amex for payments?

Yes, we can accept Amex as well as Visa and MasterCard.

 

What Cancer Council WA programs will the money raised from the lottery fund?

Every lottery ticket sold will help us bring the defeat of cancer closer by enabling us to:

  • Continue running our cancer education and support services
  • Continue to invest in local cancer research
  • Continue our advocacy work to ensure the Government takes action to reduce cancer in our community
  • Continue to improve cancer outcomes for regional cancer patients through early detection and support services

 

When do Lottery ticket sales close?

The Early Bird draw will close at 11:59pm on 16 November 2017.

The Bonus Prize draw will close at 11:59pm on 30 November 2017.

Lottery ticket sales close at 11:59pm on 21 December 2017 (unless sold out prior).

 

When are the Lottery prizes drawn?

The Early Bird Prize will be drawn at 10:00am on 20 November 2017.

The Bonus Prize will be drawn at 10:00am on 4 December 2017.

The Major Prize will be drawn at 10:00am on 4 January 2018.

 

Where are the prizes drawn?

All prizes are drawn at the Cancer Council WA Head Office, L1, 420 Bagot Rd, Subiaco 6008.

 

Who will be present at the Lottery draw?

Cancer Council WA Executive.

 

How are the prizes drawn?

All prizes will be drawn using our randomised drawing mechanism in accordance with strict Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor regulations.

 

Early Bird Prize FAQs

 

What is the Early Bird?

The Early Bird draw is for all tickets purchased prior to the Early Bird close at 11:59pm on 16 November 2017. The winning ticket in the Early Bird draw will also be in the running for the Bonus Prize and the $160,000 Major Cash Prize.

 

If I purchase my ticket in time to be in the running for the Early Bird prize, do I need to register or purchase again for the two other prize draws?

If you purchase your ticket within the Early Bird period you don't have to register or purchase again. Being eligible for the Early Bird prize simply means that you've bought your ticket before the close of the Early Bird period, which means you are eligible for the Early Bird Prize, the Bonus Prize AND the $160,000 Major Cash Prize.

 

When will the Early Bird Prize be drawn?

The Early Bird Prize will be drawn at 10:00am on 20 November 2017.

The Early Bird winner will be notified by phone. They will also be published online via our Facebook and Instagram pages and at grandgetawaylottery.com.au after the draw.

 

Bonus Prize FAQs

 

What is the Bonus?

The Bonus draw is for all tickets purchased prior to the Bonus draw close at 11:59pm on 30 November 2017. The winning ticket in the Bonus draw will also be in the running for the $160,000 Major Cash Prize.

 

If I purchase my ticket in time to be in the running for the Bonus prize, do I need to register or purchase again for the Major prize draw?
